Vinyl organization/storage

I'm gradually getting back into my craftroom.... I'm on facebook and WOW the groups I'm in are addicted to vinyl. Well, I don't have that much and I wanted more so I went to expressionsvinyl.com   and ordered their vinyl samples. GEE WIZZ didn't know there were so many different types/styles of vinyl.
The OCD in me had to organize the samples and here is what I did....Now all I need to do is order the vinyl LOL!!!

Whats What?? I labeled them and then on index cards I wrote out the directions, put the index cards on the rings and put the samples in a drawer near my crafting desk

So the vinyl I did have was on rolls, and that was taking up to much room in my jet max cubes. I HATE ROLLED vinyl it's hard to get it to stick down to the mat. Anyway I decided to cut it into 12x12 sheets. DANG! it wants to roll up..... aarrgh..... I set huge notebook/books on top and left it for several days.
I went to Hobby Lobby and found these, it was a pkg of 10. PERFECT!!!

OCD kicks in and I made labels on the silhouette, for now I've stuck it to the side. If I like this I'll stick labels on the front too.

Sneak Peek into craft room

Ok, its going to take  longer than planned to organize my crafts BUT..here's the shelving system I told you about. I LOVE IT!!!! no more moving stuff, no move shoving, no more switching......
EVERYTHING is connected and ready to play!!!! LOVE IT!! LOVE IT!!!

Top shelf:  Knfty Knitter looms and storage cases(pre made scarfs)
2nd shelf: Cricut Expression and storage boxes(yarn)
3rd shelf: Silhouette and HP all in one printer
4th shelf: Cricut Explore and Cricut Imagine
Bottom shelf: computer tower, Epson Artisan 1430 wide format printer and Brother laser printer

The wire shelving unit is 60"w x 24"d x 72"h and its on wheels!

Plenty of room for my regular mats and I can pull it out when I want to use the longer mats.
The computer is to the left and to the right are some jetmax cubes and then my crafting area.

WARNING!!!!!!! it weighs over 100 pounds!!! I had it shipped to my house(free shipping). My son and I really struggled getting this HUGE box in the house and into my craft room. OK, I got it now.........ha ha ha ha ha ha ha  NOT!!!!!!! HELP HELP HELP!!!! it will take TWO PEOPLE TO PUT IT TOGETHER!!!

FYI- read the reviews theres some tips on an easier assembly( add the poles as you work your way up) and about those plastic disks ( you don't need them) what a relief cause they were smashed....
Well, with that out of my way. I need to reorganize the rest of my crafts...bye...

Craft room arrangement

OK, I think I like the new set up of my craft room. I had to order a shelving unit and that will arrive Friday, so HOPEFULLY by Tuesday my craft room will be DONE!!!!!!!!!!!! There's not much  I can do until the shelving unit arrives but I'm really liking how my room is looking. I can't wait to show you. When this shelving unit gets set up its going to make all the difference when it comes to crafting......Even my family couldn't believe it just dawned on me to set up my craft room this way....after how many years of crafting?????  DUH??!!
Well, that's all I'm going to say....talk is cheap and seeing is BELIEVING..........stay tuned........

Craft room

OH DEAR!!
Yesterday we finally moved my sons bed and "stuff" out of my craft room. I finally have my craft room back.... or do I ???? Before the remodel and my craft room becoming a storage room, I was in the process of rearranging/organizing my craft room and I thought I had it set up the way I wanted. NOT!!!
After several months of not being able to craft and finally really seeing my craft room today....NOPE! I don't like it, I don't know what I was thinking. I'm going to have to start all over. I don't mind either, at least I'm back in my craft room. That's the BEST Mother's Day gift I can receive!!!!! I'm back in my craft room again!!!! I'm BACK!!!!!!! it's been a GREAT MOTHERS DAY!!!!

Construction is DONE!!!

Construction is DONE!!! its very very nice.
I'm so Excited! within 30 days I'll be crafting again!!!!!! CRAFTING AGAIN!!! I'LL BE CRAFTING AGAIN!!!!! Craftroom where art tho craft room!? ha ha ha.....

Withdrawals

HA HA HA....I'm going through craft withdrawals...My family says 'I'm hard to live with"...Well Yeah, I can't craft!!!!! ha ha ha and theres still at least 2 more weeks of construction and then we still have to put everything back and then I still have to get my craftroom back in order...I don't think I'm going to make it......

I want to CRAFT!!!!

This is driving me crazy... I WANT TO CRAFT!!!!!!!!!!! but I can't because my craftroom is a storage room/bedroom for another 3 weeks..... I can't stand this!!!! I want to cry.... When you can't craft because family/work get in the way thats one thing but when you can't craft at all its very depressing..................St Patricks day has come and gone and I made nothing...now Easter is here and theres NOTHING!!!!!  WHOA IS ME!!!! such a depressing time!!!! all this repair/remodel is taking longer than planned. I am so sad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Whoa is me!!!!

I'm so upset, I can't think straight....... I have 2 bedrooms and a bathroom on the other side of the house. Long story short....The drain pipe in the shower broke! I have to clear out the 2 bedrooms so they can jack hammer through the foundation to replace the pipe.AAAAGGGHHHH!!!!!!!!! Since all this has to be done, I'm going to remodel the bathroom and have ALL the plumbing/pipes replaced (its a very old house and the pipes/plumbing are very old). So my almost finished craft room will now become a bedroom/storage room for about a month.... HA HA HA HA HA HA   Yes, I'm so upset ...you have to laugh......No crafting and I'll try and leave a path to the computer but  no promises....If I survive the chaos I'll be back in a month.

Craftroom...

I know, it seems like I've been rearranging/organizing my craftroom forever...I have...LOL....but here's a sneak peek at what I've accomplished so far.
I call this the "cube wall". I don't have all the drawers organized or labeled yet...I'm working on it..
All my cardstock/paper is on the bottom and that is labeled and organized by color or theme.

on the cart is my Cricut Explore - I can pull it over to the computer when I'm ready to craft. I haven't used the Imagine (2nd shelf) much,  I decided to leave it on the cart and start using it for background papers, since the Explore can't do that.
I haven't been to a craft store in months, I'm TRYING to use what I have and I'm tired of my Imagine collecting dust along with some of my other crafting supplies.
SO! use it or loose it(get rid of it)
I don't want to "hold on" to stuff anymore!!!
Once I have all the drawers organized and labeled I post pics of the drawers.
So what do you think of my room so far????

Moving AGAIN!!!!!

AAAAKKK!!!! I can't stand the tiny space(area) my crafts are in. Its NOT going to work. So through a lot of thought......."If Momma ain't happy, ain't nobody happy" and I am not a happy crafter!!!!! I do my best to please everyone in my household...but time is up!!! We are ALL grown adults and THIS IS MY HOUSE!! it's time to PLEASE ME!!!! My youngest son has the biggest room in the house and instead of moving back into the small bedroom I once had as a craftroom and was still kind of cramped. I head of this household have decided I WILL be taking the BIGGEST room in the house as my craftroom!!!!! NO if's, and's or buts!!!! you don't like it? Well your a grown adult move out! I'll break the news at supper tonight. ha ha ha
The holidays are upon us...I just have to figure out when to get this done. It will be done within the next few weeks otherwise I might chicken out....ha ha NOT!!! this is MY HOUSE!! I have to keep telling myself that, it gives me courage.....stay tuned




UPDATE:

Its Thursday morning and I think I've calmed down....I broke the news at supper time yesterday.....
WOW!! I did not see that coming. My Mom(who lives with me) through a fit!!! The boys didn't say anything. I love my Mom with all respect but BOY! did we get into an argument. Long argument short-I will move my Moms sewing stuff into my old craft room and I can have her sewing room (which is a BIG room).
I'm happy that I get this whole room but I feel bad about how it came about.

Packing up and moving

There's been some changes on the home front and my craftroom had to be turned back into a bedroom.
Holey Smoleys!!!! Oh where oh where, will I SQUEEZE my crafts.....when you've had a whole room for several years...WOWZA! your crafts really... really... multiply and spread out...................
My Mom has agreed to give up a 1/4 of her "Quilt Room". Smile, on my face!!!! there will be a lot of weeding out and DECLUTTERING!!!! . My crafts are all packed and for the last two days I've been trying to figure out where and how to put the furniture. Between my Moms sewing stuff ( she's a Quilter) and my crafts....it almost seemed impossible. It's night time now and I think I finally have it laid out. I thought I could get this done in 3 days but I've wasted 2 days just moving furniture around.Tomorrows my last day before I have to go back to work. Theres no way I can get all her sewing and my crafting supplies in their proper places. We're going to have to live with this disastrous mess for another week. IT'S A MESS!!!!! theres sewing and craft stuff through out the whole house. Did I mention that Halloween is just around the corner and then its Thanksgiving and Christmas..........I want to just CRY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Creative storage

My work area isn't that big and my xyron machines are on my work desk. Where can I put them? think..think...!! A few weeks ago Michaels had the jetmax cubes on sale(buy one get one free) and I had a 20% off total purchase coupon so I got a few LOL....anyway I got the file drawer and after putting it together I was surprised it didn't have a bottom....OH DEAR! I need a bottom......think think... think some more....brain getting very tired .....here's what I came up with and SURPRISE!!! it works WONDERFULLY!!!!

that's the xyron: 5", 2.5" and 1.5"

I held a pencil along the slat and drew a line, then punch 1/8" holes above the line and 1/2" apart and wrapped yarn around the bottom slat

bottom of file drawer...LOL I used the front and back of the box. I cut the cardboard 13 1/2 wide x 12 5/8 h. On one piece draw your lines and punch your holes FIRST! then glue the pieces together and after a few hours repunch your holes.

TA DA!!! that my crafty friends is creative storage!!!! Now my xyron machines are off my craft desk but within easy reach. LOVE IT!!!!
I'm back to rearranging my craftroom and ORGANIZING my crafts!!! have 3 more jetmax cubes to put together....

Embellishment drawer

Here's my embellishment drawer. Its the 2dr Recollections cube (it came with the dividers).
LOVE IT!!!!! It's organized by color and I have sequins, diy buttons, diy colored brads and diy enamel dots. It may look almost full... HA! theres 6 sections per drawer and I still have another drawer, so.....
each color will get its own section...Plenty of room to add MORE embellishments.
The drawer unit is to the right of where I sit to craft (used to be my stencil drawer but I moved my stencils). Now when I need a little something, I just open the drawer and see all my choices....
Opps..HA HA looking at the picture, the colors are backwards. I'll have to fix that! I have OCD when it comes to my crafts!!! HA HA HA

Craftroom - total view

OK, Finally....here is my CRAFTROOM!!! LOVE IT.. LOVE IT!!!
After how many years (too many to count) of moving and reorganizing my crafts. Not to mention all the youtube videos and craft sites and blogs trying to figure out my craftroom...DUH? it finally dawned on me, it wasn't my crafts but the actual crafting area. If you look at all the previous posts, my craft area FACES A WALL and I was in a corner. I'm always facing a wall.....UGH!!!! THAT WAS THE PROBLEM!!! at least for me. That is why I finally put my crafting area (sort of) in the middle of the room and I'm NOT facing a wall. I can look all around......it feels so much better!!!! So in the before posts I had my crafting area on  shelving units (Container Store) and the jetmax cubes were always near by.......I've done the opposite NOW!  The shelving units are in the closet holding my excess crafts and the jetmax cubes are now my crafting area. The boards that create my craft area are 48"l x 24"w and I have 2 of them so my area is 48" x 48"...COOL HUH!!! and the jetmax cubes support the boards.

CRAFTROOM IS DONE!!!!!

FINALLY!!!! My craftroom is D-O-N-E !!!! its only taken me 48hours of nothing but craftroom set up/organization but it's FINISHED!!! In all the years I've been crafting and I've lost count how many times I've reorganized my crafts or moved to other areas of the house.  I'm SUPER PLEASED to announce that I think this is the BEST OF THE BEST!!!! I LOVE LOVE THIS SET UP!!!!!! I'm a VERY HAPPY CRAFTER!!!

Craftroom packed up

Here we go AGAIN!!!
I've packed up my craftroom and moving it to another room.....Have you noticed every time you pack up your crafts despite that you get rid of stuff.....it seems to multiply! I took off from work last week to move my crafts and it took me two days just to get stuff packed. I moved into the new room and got some things set up (shelving) and the week was over......aaarrgh....so......I'm taking off from work next week and HOPEFULLY!! I'll get my crafts ORGANIZED!!!
I had a meeting at work this morning....it let out early...hmmmmm....I'm 1/2 way to Hobby Lobby/Michaels...its been awhile....let me go "look"....I really don't need anything....HA HA HA
I first went to Michaels....LOOK what I found with my 40% coupon...Sew Easy(handle) thats all they had!....so then I went to Hobby Lobby....LOOK.... I got the mat with my 40% coupon and I got some extra heads and the ruler....SCORE!!!! HA HA HA....Glad I was just LOOKING...HA HA HA
I blame this all on my Mom.....he he he.....Last week when HSN had their crafting show my Mom was watching it with me and they showed the Sew Easy.  She reminded me that when I was little I used to love playing with "sewing cards".....IF your over 50 you'll remember those cards that had pictures with holes punched around the outline and you had like shoestrings to sew in and out the holes.....HA HA.....Well, I wanted to refresh my memory and see if I still enjoy "sewing" on cards....HA HA After all I am a card maker.
My problem now is WHERE to store this???????

I moved my craftroom.....HELP!!!

OK, Mothers Day weekend, I took the week off from work and moved my crafts to another room.
In my new room I have a peg board that's 48" (4ft) wide x 36" (3ft) high.    LOL! I don't know what to hang on it.....I need your ideas???????? I've seen some scrapbook rooms with peg boards and they have their sticker sheets etc. I don't have stickers, so I don't know what to hang??? I look at my craft stuff and I just don't know what to put up there......I tell myself to go to Home Depot or Lowes and see what they have for peg boards.....but then what would I get??? What would I get it for???
Do you have a peg board for your crafts? or if you could have one...what would you put up on it????
PLEASE HELP!!!! I'm really determined to get my new craftroom super organized this time....ROTFLOL!
I'm in the process of destashing....I've moved a lot of craft stuff and still haven't used it....so that was the final straw... it HAS TO GO!!! no more ifs ands or buts....it's boxed and I'll be selling them...stay tune for that... in the mean time let me know what I can do with the peg board. THANKS!!!

Craft room CLEAN UP and.........out

 I organize more than I craft!!!!  WHY? I have too much crafts!! Yes, thats right I have too much...thats why I'm always organizing...I have decided BEFORE I move again...LOL...Yes, in a few months I'll be moving my crafts to another room.....ha ha ha  I'm NOT going to pack all this up and move it....NOPE!!
I WILL get rid of what I don't use....
I've had enough of all my cardstock/paper!!! WHAT?? but I'm a papercrafter......
its OVERWHELMING!!! I can't stand it anymore. I took ALL my cardstock and paper out of their designated holders and am starting over.
This time I'm going to have a  KEEP IT SIMPLE STUPID (KISS) CRAFT ROOM!!!!!
I have so many different brands of cardstock I'm TIRED of trying to figure out what to set the blade to on my cricut or silhouette to cut.....NO MORE!!! I don't want to play that game anymore.....I'm going to TRY and stick to ONE BRAND of cardstock and thats going to be Recollections from Michaels. I've been using it more and more lately. I really like how it cuts and its local...no more mail ordering.
When I see the old way of storage of all the cardstock/paper I had and then see my NEW cardstock/paper organization I am so RELIEVED!!!! WOWZA!!! What a difference!!!
Below is how I used to store my cardstock the top was all my Stampn Up and the bottom was all my misc. cardstock/paper.  There were four paper holders to each slot and each paper holder had 2 colors. This was taken a long time ago (2yrs?) and I've used up some of the SU cardstock.

This is my NEW "KISS" system....(one brand(Recollections),sorted by colors)

GEEZ!! Look at the difference??? SO MUCH BETTER!!!! The first 4 slots has Recollections cardstock, 3 paper holders per slot and one color per paper holder (12 colors). The next 2 slots has various papers by color - 3 paper holders per slot and each paper holder holds 2 colors (12 colors). The next 2 slots are empty then the next 4 slots has papers by theme/holiday etc. and theres 3 paper holders per slot and each paper holder has 2 (24 various papers). The rest of the slots have empty paper holders and stuff I need to clean out. I LOVE THIS!!!! IT'S SIMPLE!!!!!

Now, what to do with this mess??? (67 folders) I know compared to some of you...this is nothing...ROTFLOL!
The back row is all SU cardstock the front is different brands of cardstock/paper. Everything is sorted by color and in file folders.
 I found two watercolor tablets.....can't remember why I got them....LOL

Part of me says SELL IT! then I wonder who would want it? the other part says file it else where but then that wouldn't be making a fresh start....  I don't know what to do???? After all...I am a paper crafter we've been together for a long....time. Departing would be such great sorrow.....but then again I'm a crafter and NOT a hoarder.......ha ha ha ha....

ROTFLOL!!! several months later.....I'm  FINALLY satisfied with my new craft room....LOVE IT!!! everyone says its too small but its "just right". The room is 7' x 12'  but my "craft area" is 7' x 9.5'. The other end is my computer/office area and it's not organized yet. Crafts do come FIRST!! LOL

remember the first pic of the jetmax cubes? see the 3dr cubes...9 of those drawers are empty. They used to hold my cricut cartridges........so if they are empty...where are my cartridges????????
I was surfing youtube and someone was showing how they store their cartridges. So let me just say I scraplifted this idea. THANK YOU whoever you are....I PRAISE your idea!!

Isn't this the BEST!!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!!! look at all the room I have!!! each shelf will easily hold 11 carts. I put 10 so they'd be even..lol and the Imagine carts below. OH!! the cricut heads are not included....ROTFLOL!!!! it's just hanging on the door I didn't screw it on (its a hollow door) and the weight of the carts keeps it stable. Since this is my craftroom I never close the door (the door is closed for picture purposes only) HA HA
What is it and where did I get it? your screams of excitement have been heard. he he he

its CLOSETMAID adjustable 8 teir wall and door rack - model 1233 and item 335499 and its around $35. at Lowes home Improvement store. NOW RUN!!! and get yourself one!!! ok, order it online. JUST GET ONE uuhhh...some of you may need two or three...HA HA HA HA!!!!!

Now I have a new problem.....What to do with all this extra space and the empty jetmax drawers........
I need some enableing???? Any suggestions
