You Got "LOVE" Mail....

clic on pics to enlarge
This is what my co-workers will get on Valentines. I've got 30 done...40 more to go...LOL.
The mailbox is from Lettering Delights the file comes with the trim and the word "mail" (and a bunch of other stuff),  the cupid and candy wrappers are from the Silhouette store. Actually the candy wrappers are different designs I found in the sil store and put together to make a candy wrapper. The wrapper fits around the mini Hershey's. I used a brad on the cupid (instead of a flag) so it can go up and down. I also put a little stopper (its called the handle in the file) just inside the top of mailbox so the front doesn't cave in and you pull the little tab to open it. It took me forever to figure out how to put this together...theres no directions or videos. So I did my own thing. Each mailbox holds two mini Hershey's.  The LD mailbox pattern is BIG but I kept shrinking it down and doing test cuts till I got the right size, I don't know what all the sizes of the pieces are but the bottom is 2.045w x 1.725h. Oh and I cut the cupid at 1.40w x 1.60h.  Hope that helps for anyone who wants to make them.

this is the candy and the wrappers-the wrappers are 1.38"w x 3" L

I originally printed a sample of the wrappers on cardstock with my new wide format printer but I didn't like how it wrapped (the cardstock was to stiff)....so using my wide format printer I printed them on HP "Presentation Paper" #32 lb matte finish.....then I cut them out by hand....The presentation paper stuck to my silhouette mat like glue.....I had a heck of a time getting it off.....I wasn't about to try that again...LOL  since their rectangle shapes I had no problem cutting them with scissors. As far as print quality... there was no difference between the presentation paper and the cardstock...PERFECT PRINTS!!

I got a WIDE FORMAT PRINTER!!

clic on pics to enlarge
Yes Sirrie!!!! I live in a LARGE city and none of the stores had one--hard to believe I know-  but my brother who lives an hour away in a small town has a Staples store (I don't have one) and I went up and visited awhile then went to Staples.  The clerk wasn't helpful at all......I took a bunch of different cardstock type/sizes to see how it would handle/print....but he didn't know anything......I purchased the Epson Artisan 1430 anyway.....LOL
I came home and to my surprise I was able to hook it up myself (I did not go wi fi)!!!! I'm DUMB! when it comes to technology....So I'm VERY PROUD OF MYSELF!!! As you all know I have a Silhouette and I've been wanting a wide format printer but couldn't justify the cost......I have a standard HP Photosmart 5510 all in one printer that HATES cardstock. Last week I was working on some 3d Valentines projects to take into work and the printer didn't print it correctly so it cut all wrong.....wasted a lot of cardstock and my time. That was the final straw!!! When I make things for work (I work in a hospital) I make about 50-60 projects and on a standard printer (8.5 x11) thats very time consuming.....So that justified the cost and saves me time!! for a new WIDE FORMAT printer...ROTFLOL!!! I'll admit if I didn't take things into work which I do every holiday I would have just gotten a better standard printer.
Anyway I came home and tested it out and WOWZA!!! The print is PERFECT!!!! I'm printing on Recollections 12 x 12 white cardstock theres no smearing it seemed to dry instantly and its PERFECT!! I set the print (quality) color to "standard" and left the settings at text.
I've read the dimensions and OK its big but I have a spot for it.....GEEZ!!! this thing is HUGE!!!!! LOL!!!
I knew when I saw it in the store I was going to have to do some more rearranging when I got home. I did and its fits nicely. Here's some photos of my new HUGE toy.... and a sneak peak at the Valentines I'm working on... FYI the printer is sitting on a free standing elfa shelving unit (Container Store) the shelf is 24"w x 20"d

AARRGH...here we go AGAIN!!!

Blogger is not letting me post pictures.....
When I click to "insert image" the window opens up but the "browse" link doesn't appear, so I can't download my pics from my desk top. I'm at my wits end.... I don't know what to do.......Does ANYBODY have any suggestions???? PLEASE! HELP!!!
The last time something like this happened my pictures were too large and I used up all my space (a window popped up telling me) but I've downsized a majority of them so I should have space.. no window is popping up... I'm stumped....I don't know why the browse link isn't appearing.

I noticed blogger is aware of the problem. For now you can post pics in the "html" and then look at them in "compose"...a bit of a pain but it gets the job done. Hope they fix it soon.
