What does BOOT mean?

OK, When I saw this file at SVGCUTS - Happy Trails - I had to have it....I showed you the "Boot Family" in an earlier post. Then my creative brain kicked in...and I made 52 boots to take into work. Oh, I work in a hospital...so yeah, I needed a lot of boots. ha ha I shrunk the original size down 25%, so the boots are 6"h x5"l. I was going to make all brown boots (standard color of boots) but I didn't have enough so....boots come in various colors now..I made a few of each color...HA HA HA. I used the embossing folder "Tiny Bubbles" for the top of the boot and I bought white tiny brads and colored them with sharpie markers. A bag of M&M's will go into each boot. My only problem now is figuring out how to take them into work????? I work a split shift (1/2 day shift and 1/2 night shift).

These are for the Day shift (30 boots)

These are for the night shift (22)

Aren't they just GORGEOUS???
It took a lot longer than I had planned....there were a lot and I mean a lot of pieces to put together.....I am so tired of making boots...I don't think I'll ever do a project like this for work with so many pieces again!!!
FYI - occupations: doctors, nurses, aides, respiratory therapy, lab, dietary, physical therapy, clerks, speech therapy, housekeeping, transporters, etc........
Blogger is STILL messed up!!!!! SO AGGRAVATING!!!!

NEW play pretties....

Their called PANPASTEL
here's the link:  http://www.panpastel.com/

and I ordered them from BLICK art materials because they take paypal and if you check their sight regularly they have GREAT sales.
Here's the link;   http://www.dickblick.com/products/panpastel-artists-painting-pastels/

I ordered the 20 color sets - Tints(light) - Painting(medium) - Shades(dark)
I ordered these sets after reading all the reviews because you get almost every color and hardly any repeats.
You can buy individual colors too.

 Here's the SHADES kit

the TINTS

as you can see one is messed up and within 3 days I got a new kit and returned this one. FANTASTIC SERVICE!

the PAINTING (I bought extra lids)

they come stacked

Here's why I ordered the 3 kits, I call them; lights(top row), Medium(middle row), Dark(bottom row)
(I made the labels on my Silhouette)

Aren't ALL the colors GORGEOUS!!! the only "extra" colors are 1 white and 1 black

I embossed and colored it with the pastels.....PRETTY huh??

LOOK at how well it blends.....

I made some stencils (patterns from the Silhouette store) this one I used                                                                 too  much  pastels

getting better ...Practice will make it PRETTY, Love the Brick....A little dab will do....HA HA

I'm an ORGANIZING freak when it comes to my crafts!!!!!!!
It took me a while to figure it all out but I got it done!! HA HA HA..........
OK, each kit comes with 4 lids, 4 storage jars. Here's my math problem.....I wanted a lid and storage jar for every color (60 colors). aaaaaakkkkkk.......I already have 12 lids  and 12 storage jars....................
 So, here's what I ordered:  Lids(8pk) x4, Storage jars (3 jars-1 lid)x16, soft covers (10) #1 x3, soft
covers (10) #2 x3-I wanted extra soft covers.     HA HA See....it wasn't easy but it worked out
I then went to Wal-Mart and got a bunch of cheapy makeup wedges(they work just as well) and several rolls of the cheapest paper towels(put your cardstock on a paper towel when using the pastels..less mess) and to Hobby Lobby and got a pastel eraser and a can of Krylon Crystal Clear(you need to protect the pastels from rubbing off).  I think I'm all set....ha ha ha......

each color has a wedge and foam cover

the pastel and storage jar (labeled both)

the 12x12 drawers I store them in

FYI- I'm on a tight craft budget...I did NOT buy this all at once....it has taken me several months....I destashed my crafts and the money I made I was able to purchase these sets and because I destashed I have room for them..HA HA HA
I'm really going to be HAPPY with my PanPastels cause they won't dry out and no reinking..HA HA HA
I've watched all the youtube videos ---I'm going to have a lot of fun with these.
EXCUSE the messiness of this post..blogger isn't working right....I don't know how to fix it...

Meet the BOOT family....

Papa Boot stands at 8" tall, Mama Boot stands at 6" tall and Baby Boot stands at 4" tall.
I got the file from SVGCUTS "Happy Trails". I embossed the top of the boot with folder "bubbles".
I have this project in mind and I needed a boot. Papa boot was way to big, so I shrunk the file 50% and made Baby boot....yes, its cute...but what a disaster!!! the pieces didn't really fit together correctly and it was almost impossible to glue everything together. It was way to small (I'll never make a little one again). Then came Mama boot I shrunk the file to 75% and its PERFECT!!! for what I want it for.....stay tuned for that.....
Papa, Mama and Baby...What does this remind you of??? HA HA HA...The 3 Bears......HA HA HA
Oh, I used Recollections cardstock and ZIP DRY paper glue. A fast drying glue is needed

Boa scarf

This is a regular scarf using the Boa yarn -color: Raven. I used a single strand, I think I used 18 pegs and used the flat e-wrap. I originally made this for my 10 yr old nephew (Christmas) but kinda got carried away and made it too long...LOL...I used 3/4 of a skein but realized it was too long so the 1st one will go to my oldest son and then I made another one a little shorter using the rest of the first skein and about 1/4 of another. The 1st scarf is about 8"wide and 36"long and the 2nd scarf is 8"wide and 32"long. it's hard to measure cause it's so stretchy and SUPER SOFT!!!

For a regular scarf I like the single strand, this Boa yarn is a #5 which is considered bulky so it'll be plenty warm.

Hooded Scarf

I'm LOVE'N that Boa yarn. Heres a Royal Blue hooded scarf. Just like the pink one. I used 2 skeins as one and flat e-wrapped 22 pegs. Then folded in half and stitched down 10" for the hood.

OK, I'm working on a boa scarf single strand...it's just going to be a scarf, so I'll let you know how the single strand comes out.

Hooded Scarf

Some of the females in the family are under 10 yrs of age and I decided they wouldn't like a ruffled scarf, so I'm making them a hooded scarf with Bernat Boa yarn - color Chick
OH MY GOSH!!!! I don't think I'll every go back to regular yarn when making scarves....this Boa is SUPER SOFT!!! I LOVE IT!!!! I used two skeins together (2 as one) and used 22 pegs, flat - e-wrapped. Folded the scarf in half and sewed the seam from top - down 10".  ALL the children in the family will be getting a Boa scarf (different colors of course) - females hooded scarf and males regular scarf. Then I'm going to make ME a hooded scarf and a regular scarf...HA HA HA!!!
FYI - for a regular scarf I don't think I will double it, I'd just use 1 skein.
I'm working on another hooded scarf, when thats done then I'll make a regular scarf.
This Boa yarn is so fuzzy theres no front or back......WARNING!!!!  because this Boa yarn is so fuzzy if you drop a stitch you'll have to start all over......at least for me, I couldn't find the stitch the yarn is too fuzzy. It happened to me twice...but the e-wrap is so quick it doesn't take long to get this project done.
